Stand up paddling is the perfect way to experience Asheville's beauty. All tours take place on Class I waters (so no experience is required), and since Asheville has always been one of America's best outdoor adventure towns, stand up paddling is the newest way to enjoy the Asheville outdoors. This family-friendly Asheville activity takes place on the French Broad River—an historic and scenic waterway that's the third oldest river in the world.
On all of our Asheville SUP tours, guests are offered complimentary transport to the put-in at Hominy Creek, and then enjoy a Class I paddle to the part of the river by New Belgium. Over the course of this 4-mile route, paddlers will drift past the Biltmore Estate, and finish within walking distance of breweries and shops in the burgeoning River Arts District. Learn about Asheville's lengthy history and current tourism boom, and help support local Asheville businesses by exploring the River Arts. We're also big on sustainability and restoring the river's health, and through our corporate sponsorship of RiverLink, portions of proceeds from every single paddler are donated back to the river.
New to the sport of stand up paddling? That's ok—all of our guides are ACA trained as certified SUP instructors, and paddling lessons and personal instruction are provided with every tour. The boards we use are wide and stable, and we even use flexible, 4 inch fins specifically designed for rivers. Check out a video on the boards below, or visit our reservations page to book a tour today!
