7-Mile Mid Afternoon Tour
Spend the afternoon paddling through the trees of Asheville's Biltmore Estate! This section of river is much less crowded and serene than the paddle through town, and gives you the chance to see the famous Biltmore home from the water.
*Please note: The Biltmore Estate is private property and no paddling to shore is allowed.
2:30pm: Meet at Asheville Outdoor Center (521 Amboy Road), park, and load up in shuttle.
3:00pm: Arrive at Bent Creek put-in
3-3:30pm: Standup Paddle Lesson and Instruction
3:30-6pm: 7-Mile paddle back to Asheville Outdoor Center.
What to Bring
Our boards are so stable there's a very good chance you may never touch the water. Considering the afternoon heat, however, taking a cool, refreshing dip is all a part of the fun! It's best to wear board shorts or a bathing suit if you'd like to cool off in the river, and sunglasses are definitely a nice addition—although you might want a Croakie or string. If you plan to head into town afterwards, we'd suggest leaving a change of clothes and towel in your car.
If you'd like, you can also bring a waterproof camera for capturing all of the fun, just know that Wai Mauna Asheville SUP Tours isn't liable for items that are lost, damaged, or stolen. Finally, optional items include sunscreen and bug spray (eco-safe is best), and if it's looking like a day with an afternoon sprinkle, there's no harm in bringing a rain jacket if you think you'll absolutely need it.
